1/2 teaspoon dehydrated milk kefir grains for 2dl of milk
Those are the grains which made us love milk kefir. We have been using the Swiss milk kefir grains for 5 years now and never got disappointed. They produce a slightly tangy and refreshing milk kefir. The final drink will be more or less creamy depending on the fermentation time. The milk type you are using as well as the environmental factors also influence the final milk kefir drink.
With one bag of dehydrated milk kefir grains you can produce 2dl of milk kefir drink, once your rehydrated the grains. As the milk kefir grains tend to multiply once they completely adapted to their environment, you can soon produce a larger amount of milk kefir. Please look at our “how to” section for instructions.
It is important that you reactivate your grains quickly as they are living cultures and therefore have no expiry date (on the packaging you will see a lot number which allows us to know when it was handled). If you won’t reactivate the milk kefir grains directly upon arrival, put the bag containing the dehydrated milk kefir grains in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
