  • Sourdough Starter

    Sourdough Starter (3)

Sourdough starters are used to bake bread instead of using store-bought yeast (for recipes, check my blog). Some of the sourdoughs have been passed down for generations; time allows them to develop their unique taste properties. A sourdough is usually started by mixing flour* and water. Kefir or a yogurt can also replace the water for an extra shot of good bacterias in the starter. We sell 4 different dried starters made on different flour types: rye, wheat and spelt
  • Mesophilic Cultures

    Mesophilic Cultures (3)

The easiest way to obtain a yogurt! Always keep a bit of your previous batch. Add it to milk*, culture it at room temperature and enjoy! And redo “ad vitam aeternam”, as long as you are taking good care of it! *We use organic full fat UHT cow milk for safety reasons, but you are free to use whatever milk you want. Raw milk, goat milk, skim milk, just remember to keep excellent hygiene conditions and you will be OK.
  • Milk Kefir

    Milk Kefir (4)

Milk kefir is obtained by fermenting milk* with kefir grains. The grains transform the liquid aspect of the milk into a creamy drink. The result can be fizzy and its taste varies from very neutral and yogurt-like, to a more tangy or yeasty taste. We sell fresh and dehydrated kefir grains to suit everyone’s preferences. *We use organic full fat UHT cow milk for safety reasons, but you are free to use whatever milk you want. • Water Kefir

    Water Kefir (2)

Water kefir is obtained by fermenting a sweet water base with the help of kefir grains. As the obtained drink is quite tasteless, a second fermentation is usually done with some fruits, juices, syrups or spices. The result is a natural soda-like drink full of probiotics! We sell fresh and dehydrated kefir grains to suit everyone’s preferences.
  • Kombucha

    Kombucha (3)

Kombucha is a slightly sweet, somehow sour and sometimes sparkly drink (a bit like a healthy iced tea, made of tea (black, green or rooibos) and sweetener (sugar or honey) and transformed by a scoby over a period of time going from 24 hours to 2 weeks. We sell different scobies, depending on your tea preferences.
  • Kefirko Jars

    Kefirko Jars (5)

This is the best investment you can do for an easy everyday use of your new friends! Kefirko is an all-in-one system designed to make the entire brewing and fermenting process easier. You don’t need a separate strainer; it is included in the lid. Just open the sealing lid and pour! The grains will stay in the jar. If you are making milk kefir in it, use the sealing lid to measure the grain quantity needed for the next batch. I also use those jars for small kombucha batches as the wide opening allows an easy access to the scoby. For the same reason I like to use them with the 2nd fermentation lid for my sourdough. scoby&friends is an official distributor of Kefirko.
